La Factoría

La Factoría is a bar located in Old San Juan, recognized internationally for its cocktails and unique multi-room layout. It has received awards and recognition, including a spot on the list of the World’s 50 Best Bars, and is considered one of the most popular nightlife spots in Puerto Rico.

The bar opened in 2013 and quickly gained international attention for its creative approach to mixology and its distinctive hidden-room format. Behind its unmarked doors, visitors can find different interconnected spaces, each with its own atmosphere and music. La Factoría has played a role in shaping San Juan’s modern cocktail scene while maintaining a laid-back, local feel.

La Factoría is not a traditional bar. Once inside, guests can move through several adjoining rooms, each offering a different environment:

• Main Bar – Where signature cocktails are served, known for their creative flavor combinations.
• Wine Bar and Salsa Room – Spaces featuring music, including live salsa nights that attract both locals and visitors.
• Hidden Bars – Accessible through unmarked doors, giving the venue a speakeasy-like appeal.

The atmosphere is casual but lively, and while the bar is well known internationally, it still feels integrated into Old San Juan’s local nightlife.

• Dress Code: There is no strict dress code, but casual nightlife attire is common. Comfortable clothing is recommended, especially if you plan to dance.
• Crowds: La Factoría is popular and can get busy, particularly on weekends. Arriving earlier in the evening is often more relaxed.
• Age Requirement: Like most nightlife venues, entry is restricted to those 18 or 21+ depending on local regulations, so carry a valid ID.
