Most travelers—including U.S., EU, Canadian, Australian, and many Asian passport holders—do not need a visa to visit Singapore for tourism, business, or family visits for up to 90 days. Singapore offers visa-free entry to citizens of many countries for short stays. The duration of visa-free stays can vary, typically allowing for 30 to 90 days of entry.

Visa-Free Entry for 30 Days

Citizens of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Ukraine, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates can enter Singapore without a visa for up to 30 days.

Visa-Free Entry for 90 Days

Citizens of most European Union countries, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan can stay in Singapore visa-free for up to 90 days.

Special Cases

Citizens of India and China can enjoy a 96-hour visa-free transit if they meet certain conditions, such as holding a valid onward ticket to a third country. Citizens of Malaysia enjoy the privilege of visa-free entry to Singapore for up to 30 days and often make frequent short visits.

If you’re from one of the countries listed on the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) website, you’ll need to apply for a visitor visa or electronic visa (e‑Visa) prior to traveling. To apply, you’ll typically submit your passport, recent passport-style photo, completed Form 14A, proof of accommodation, travel itinerary, evidence of sufficient funds, and a return or onward ticket. Indian nationals, for example, must process their e‑Visa via authorized agents to meet Singapore’s immigration standards.

Countries of the following countries require a visa to enter Singapore:  India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.

Citizens of China, Russia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, North Korea, Ukraine require a visa for stays beyond 30 days.

If you’re from a country that requires a visa, you can apply online through Singapore’s e-Visa system or visit the nearest Singaporean embassy or consulate. The process is usually straightforward and involves submitting an application form, a recent photo, and some supporting documents like your travel itinerary and a letter of introduction (if required).

If you want to stay longer, apply for a Short-Term Visit Pass extension through the ICA before your current permission expires. This is typically only considered under special circumstances. Similarly, some travelers from CIS countries, Georgia, India, China, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine may be eligible for a 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF) if connecting flights meet requirements.
