Aventura Mall
A large suburban shopping complex north of Miami, offering retail, dining, and public art.
Aventura Mall opened in April 1983 and has since expanded into one of the largest enclosed shopping centers in the U.S.—currently the largest in Florida and fifth nationwide by retail area, totaling around 2.8 million square feet.
Store Mix & Anchors
The mall hosts over 300 retailers, including luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Gucci, Cartier, and Saint Laurent, as well as mainstream names such as Zara, Sephora, Nike, Aritzia, and Anthropologie. It is anchored by Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s (in separate women’s and men’s store formats), JCPenney, and a 24-screen AMC Theatres.
Development & Layout
Originally spanning 1.2 million square feet with four anchors, the mall doubled in size by the late 1990s. Further expansions added a three-story wing, new retail space, parking structures, and a luxury Nordstrom. A notable $214 million recent development introduced Treats Food Hall, an arts collection, and an event venue called Level Three.
Public Art & Community Features
Aventura Mall integrates public art known as the Arts Aventura Mall collection, featuring works by artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Robert Indiana, Carsten Höller, and The Haas Brothers. Key installations include the 93-foot Slide Tower and the whimsical Gorillas in the Mist fountain/playground. These pieces position the mall as both a retail and cultural venue.
Food & Dining Options
The mall offers over 50 dining options, from casual fast-food-style outlets in Treats Food Hall—like Shake Shack and Chipotle—to sit-down restaurants including Eataly, CVI.CHE 105, and Serafina. Cafés such as Ladurée and Ralph’s Coffee add variety.
