Brickell
Miami’s Financial Distric
Brickell is Miami’s financial district, located just south of Downtown. It’s known for its high-rise skyline, business centers, and modern developments, but it’s also one of the city’s fastest-growing residential and entertainment neighborhoods. The area has become a hub for dining, shopping, and nightlife, attracting both locals and visitors who want a taste of Miami’s urban side.
Things to Do in Brickell
Brickell City Centre
A large mixed-use complex with shops, restaurants, a cinema, and office space. It’s one of the most recognizable landmarks in the neighborhood and a popular place to spend time indoors.
Dining and Bars
Brickell has a wide range of restaurants and bars, from casual spots to upscale dining. Many rooftop bars in the area offer views of the skyline and Biscayne Bay, making it a popular nightlife destination.
Mary Brickell Village
Once the main shopping and dining area before Brickell City Centre opened, Mary Brickell Village is still home to restaurants, cafes, and stores, and often hosts events and markets.
Waterfront Views
Some parts of Brickell overlook Biscayne Bay, and several hotels and restaurants make use of the waterfront setting. It’s one of the few places in Miami where you can enjoy both a city skyline and water views in the same spot.
Proximity to Downtown and Key Biscayne
Brickell is centrally located, making it easy to access Downtown Miami to the north and Key Biscayne to the south, which is just across the Rickenbacker Causeway.
Atmosphere
Brickell has a more urban and modern feel compared to neighborhoods like Coconut Grove or Little Havana. During the day, it’s busy with professionals working in banks, law firms, and offices. In the evenings and weekends, the area shifts to a social scene, with restaurants, rooftop lounges, and clubs filling up with both locals and visitors.
Good to Know
- Brickell is well-connected by public transportation. The Metromover and Metrorail both serve the area, making it easy to get around without a car.
- The neighborhood can be busy during rush hour, so plan extra time if you’re driving.
- While Brickell has a concentration of modern architecture and luxury high-rises, there are also historic sites nearby, including some of Miami’s early 20th-century buildings.
