Lincoln Road
Miami Beach’s shopping & dining street
Lincoln Road is one of Miami Beach’s most famouse pedestrian promenades. It stretches for several blocks between Alton Road and Washington Avenue. Designed for walking, it offers numerous stores & restaurants, making it a central spot for shopping, dining, and simply spending time outdoors.
The street was originally designed in the 1910s and later remodeled by architect Morris Lapidus in the 1950s, giving it much of the look it still has today.
Shopping and Dining
Lincoln Road has a variety of stores, from international brands to smaller boutiques. While the shopping selection changes over the years, it is still a great place ton find both practical essentials and trendier options in one walkable area.
Dining is also a highlight of the street. It has a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, many with outdoor seating that makes it easy to take in the street’s atmosphere. Options cover everything from casual bites to sit-down meals.
Cultural Spaces and Events
Beyond shopping and dining, Lincoln Road also has cultural attractions. The New World Center, home to the New World Symphony, is located just off the promenade. The street often hosts seasonal events, art markets, and performances, especially busy during Art Basel and Halloween.
Transit and Connectivity
Downtown Miami is well-connected:
- The Metromover offers free transit on elevated routes across the district.
- Metrorail, buses, Brightline, and bike lanes extend beyond downtown to other Miami neighborhoods and the airport.
Public Space and Atmosphere
Because it’s pedestrian-only, Lincoln Road feels different from most other parts of Miami Beach. Wide sidewalks, shaded seating areas, and open-air gathering spots make it a convenient place for strolling or people-watching. It’s busy during the day, but evenings also draw crowds who come for dinner, coffee, or simply a walk.
