Superblue Miami
Offering large-scale, immersive sensory installations
Housed in a repurposed industrial building in Allapattah, Superblue Miami is an experiential art center centered on immersive installations rather than traditional galleries. It opened in 2021 and spans approximately 50,000 sq ft, featuring rotating exhibitions that engage visitors through scale, light, sound, and interactivity.
Notable Installations and Artists
Featured works include large-scale creations by internationally recognized artists:
- Es Devlin’s “Forest of Us”: a mirrored labyrinth spread across two levels, conceptualizing connections between nature and self.
- teamLab’s digital environments: interactive displays where visitors’ movements alter digital visuals—flowers grow and change in real time.
- James Turrell’s light piece, a contemplative immersive space shaped by light and perception.
- Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s “Pulse Topology”: an installation where thousands of suspended lights pulse in sync with visitors’ heartbeats.
- Additional works include JR’s community-focused photo mural and studio-based sound/light installations

Experience and Visit Structure
- A typical visit lasts between 90 and 120 minutes, with a clear flow that guides visitors through each installation in sequence.
- Unlike conventional museums, the artworks are tactile and responsive—interactive elements are built in rather than protective barriers.
- Sensory-friendly programming is offered periodically for visitors preferring quieter conditions.
