Who can enter Mauritius without a Visa

Citizens from numerous countries can enter Mauritius without a visa for short stays, typically up to 90 days. This includes nationals from:

Africa: Citizens from South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Senegal, Ghana, Gambia, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, and Eswatini can enter Mauritius without a visa.​

Asia: Nationals of Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Israel enjoy visa-free access. Additionally, citizens from India and China are granted visa-free entry for up to 60 days.​

Europe: All European Union member states, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, as well as non-EU countries like Switzerland, Norway, and the United Kingdom, are included in the visa exemption list.​

Americas: Travelers from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and other South American countries such as Peru and Colombia can visit Mauritius without a visa.​

Oceania: Citizens of Australia and New Zealand are permitted visa-free entry.​

Caribbean: Nationals from countries including Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Bahamas can enter Mauritius without a visa.​

The eVisa is typically valid for short stays and is available for tourism, business, or family visits. Countries eligible for the eVisa include India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and others.


Premium Travel Visa

Mauritius offers a Premium Travel Visa for individuals who intend to stay in the country for an extended period, up to one year, for purposes such as remote work, retirement, or long-term tourism. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means to support themselves and have valid health insurance coverage. This visa does not permit holders to engage in employment within the Mauritian labor market.


Additional Entry Requirements

Regardless of visa type, all travelers to Mauritius must:

  • Hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry.
  • Provide proof of onward or return travel.
  • Demonstrate sufficient funds to cover their stay.
  • Complete the “Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form” within 72 hours prior to arrival. ​
